Operation Python Dance: Ohanaeze Demand Justice For The Massacred Igbo Youths

BREAKING NEWS
Operation Python Dance: Ohanaeze Demand Justice For The Massacred Igbo Youths
The apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has called on the military to find the soldiers who allegedly killed Igbos during the Operation Python Dance.
President-General of Ohanaeze, John Nnia- Nwodo, stated this Tuesday at the night of tributes for the former secretary general of the group and Biafran war veteran, the late Col. Joseph Achuzia, at the Enugu Sports Club.
“I had the opportunity to confront the leadership of the Army, who gave me an assurance that there is going to be a court martial of all soldiers involved in that behaviour that was contrary to their rules of engagement.
“I have been following this matter with correspondence and I will continue to follow it until we know those who massacred our children without cause,” he assured.
On Achuzia, Nwodo said: “From the Igbo-speaking part of Delta State, Asaba, Achuzia threw himself into the Biafran war with unsurpassed bravery, exemplary military discipline and the tact of historical generals of great wars.
“His single-minded approach to the Baifran War made him the dread of any soldier who exhibited any sign of cowardice or equivocation as far as the war was concerned.
“The severity of his enforcement of military discipline earned him the nickname ‘AirRaid’ while his bravery was likened to that of ‘Hannibal the Great’, hence, his other nickname, ‘Hannibal’.
“His bravery was such that he was always posted to any front which defied solution or where the battle was toughest, such that he was believed, then, to be invincible and a cat with nine lives.
“I am happy to be one of the people sent to Asagba of Asaba at the end of the war to say to our kit and kin in Delta that we are extremely sorry we have not shown enough sympathy for the carnage in that part of Igbo land
“And for the fact that we, the brothers, haven’t come to pay our respect for the dead since the war ended. All of us knelt down at the house of the Asagba of Asaba; I saw Ojukwu on his knees.
“I led the national executive of Ohanaeze to Asaba last year when they remembered 700 of our people who were murdered by federal troops. Contrary to the rules of engagement, the same kind of thing that happened to us not too long ago when we had the operation python dance”.

Nwodo Speaks On His "Suspension" By Ohanaeze Youth Wing

BREAKING NEWS
Nwodo Speaks On His "Suspension" By Ohanaeze Youth Wing
President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief John Nnia Nwodo, has disowned a purported leadership of Ohanaeze Youth Wing.
Nwodo was reacting to the alleged “suspension” slammed on him, by the youth wing, during the weekend.
Yesterday, Nwodo said the youth wing of the apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation had no leadership for now and so, could not have served a vote of no confidence on him.
Nwodo, who reacted through his Special Adviser, Chief Emeka Attamah, described them as “attention-seekers.”
Last week, the group passed a no confidence vote on Nwodo and also served him seven-day ultimatum to appear before a disciplinary committee, to answer allegations against him, which included running a one-man executive, partisanship and lack of transparency.
But, Nwodo replied that the group had long been disbanded by Ime-Obi, which is the highest decision-making body of Ohanaeze.
“For the avoidance of doubt, while the leadership of Ohanaeze Youth Wing was dissolved in 2016, by the Ime-Obi and the National Executive Council of Ohanaeze, the tenure of the women wing expired with the last executive in 2017, thereby making both of them defunct.
“The National Executive of Ohanaeze Ndigbo exists at the instance of the General Assembly which hasn’t passed a vote of no confidence in it”, he said and added that “the office of Ohanaeze has been inundated with letters and messages on how well they have been leading Ndigbo.”
Attamah stated that the president-general was the only person among the executive prohibited by the constitution from participating in party politics, and that “it is preposterous to imagine Chief Nwodo could romance any political aspirant, let alone determine his choice of a running mate.”

Biafra Calls For Dissolution Of Nigeria, Attacks Nwodo, Ikpeazu, Others

BREAKING NEWS
Biafra Calls For Dissolution Of Nigeria, Attacks Nwodo, Ikpeazu, Others
The Media and Publicity Secretary of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Comrade Emma Powerful, has called for dissolution of Nigeria.
Powerful said those clamouring for the restructuring of Nigeria should have a rethink because the nation has totally collapsed, stressing that repackaging an already crumbled country would cause more harm than good.
The IPOB spokesman also flayed the apex socio cultural group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo for compounding the suffering of their people by not speaking against injustice.
Powerful, in a chat with Punch, said: “Referendum is the will of the people. No right-thinking, intelligent being would subscribe to the ludicrous notion of one Nigeria unless that person is a thief, suffering from identity crisis or lacking in self-confidence that can only hide by belonging to a wider Nigeria. If Ohanaeze Ndigbo is in doubt as to what our people truly desire, they should conduct a plebiscite.
“Restructuring is not a panacea for the ills bedeviling Nigeria. The only solution is outright dissolution. Restructuring is a product of a flawed intellectual argument devoid of common sense and rational thinking. You cannot fuse together divergent, competing and often irreconcilable value systems into one monolithic geopolitical space.
“Ohanaeze Ndigbo has outlived its usefulness. An organisation that claims to represent the interest of the people but is actively engaged in undermining the collective aspiration of the same people it claims to be working for should not exist. Ohanaeze Ndigbo is an organisation that has soiled its hands in the blood of the innocent. Nnia Nwodo (Ohanaeze President-General), Gov. Dave Umahi (Ebonyi State) and Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia State) are the brains behind Operation Python Dance II”.

Leadership Of Youth Wing Of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Dismisses The Comments Credited To OYC About Nwodo

BREAKING NEWS
Leadership Of Youth Wing Of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Dismisses The Comments Credited To OYC About Nwodo
The leadership of Ohanaeze Youth Wing in South South on Tuesday dismissed comments credited to Ohanaeze Youth Congress about President General of Ohanaeze, Chief Nnia Nwodo.
OYC, had in a statement issued on Monday accused him of mortgaging the interest of Ndigbo.
The OYC’s statement followed its meeting held in Enugu, where it passed a vote of no confidence on Nwodo, who they accused of sidelining other members of the Ohanaeze National Executive Council.
Reacting, Chief Chinedu Arthur-Ugwa, Coordinator of Ohanaeze in South-South, described the claim as baseless and false.
He claimed that those parading themselves as national leaders of the youth wing of Ohanaeze were misleading the public.
Arthur-Ugwa said: “We were surprised that some defunct members of Ohanaeze Youth Wing issued a statement accusing the President General of meddling into 2019 presidential elections.
“To state the facts, the allegations are fabricated by expelled members of the youth group at the national level to attract public sympathy; there is no truth in the allegation.
“The President-General has been working at uniting Igbos all over the world and recently was in Bayelsa as part of his efforts in restructuring and repositioning Ndigbo in a restructured federation.
“Nwodo also waded into leadership crisis in Ohaneze Ndigbo Bayelsa chapter, is this what they call politics?
“The President-General categorically said that he was not interested in personal gains from the struggle for restructuring, so the allegation is a mere ploy by disgruntled persons parading themselves as Ohanaeze youth leaders.
“The National Executives of Ohanaeze Youth Wing was dissolved by Ime-Obi and National Executive Council of Ohanaeze Ndigbo in 2017 and we are getting set for elections later this month, so they are misleading the people.
“The leadership at the state levels in the South East and South South condemn and dissociate ourselves from the statement and frown at the disrespect to our revered elders and leaders in Ohanaeze Ndigbo, our parent body.
“We urge the errant youths to refrain from using the media to discredit the organisation and show commitment towards building of a united front for Ndigbo.”

The Youth Wing Of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Issues 7day Ultimatum To Chief Nnia Nwodo To Clear Himself Or Resign

BREAKING NEWS
The Youth Wing Of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Issues 7day Ultimatum To Chief Nnia Nwodo To Clear Himself Or Resign
Ahead of the 2019 general elections, the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo appears to be heading for the rocks.
This is as the various wings of the Igbo group are heading for different direction over their stand on the election.
We reported that the Ohanaeze Youth Congress, OYC, in a statement issued on Monday accused the President General of Ohanaeze, Chief Nnia Nwodo of mortgaging the interest of Ndigbo.
The OYC statement followed its meeting held in Enugu, where it passed a vote of no confidence on Nwodo, who they accused of sidelining other members of the Ohanaeze National Executive Council.
The statement was signed by OYC President, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro and Mazi Okwu Nnabuike, the Secretary General.
It read in parts: “It is with great sense of dismay and clear picture of the present debased Ohanaeze politics that we the fledgling members of the Ohanaeze Youth Council, OYC, summoned an emergency security meeting and met today, April 2nd, 2018 being Easter Monday, because it has dawned on us and every other conscious Igbo that the President General, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Nnia Nwodo has not only lost leadership mantle but veered out of the way and is hell bent to push the Ohanaeze and Ndigbo to a political cul-de-sac.
“We averred that it is high time Ndigbo rose up before Nwodo commits political suicide that would burn our hands and identity and it will only need articulate youths and wise elders and technocrats to rescue Ohanaeze Ndigbo from Nwodo’s clique and thereby, save Igbo Nation from plausible political suicide.”
The statement claimed that “out of 24-man executive of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Nwodo uses an illegal organ of Forum Of States’ Presidents against the Constitution Of Ohanaeze to subdue, intimidate and humiliate other Ohanaeze Ndigbo executive members and thereby, forming a cabal and constituting a menace against the democratically elected members of Ohanaeze youths and women.
“In view of the foregoing, we the Ohanaeze Youth Wing, OYW presently at the receiving ends of Nwodo’s political forays and not in a haste to adopt or support any presidential candidate to avoid a repeat of the Igbo’s 2015 fate choice, that he pressures for, hereby, passed votes of no confidences on Chief Nnia Nwodo and his Ohanaeze Ndigbo presidency and we give him 7 days to appear before the Ohanaeze Disciplinary committee to explain and answer for his political infidelity against Igbos.”
They listed what they called issued before Nwodo to include: “Why did he go against the Ohanaeze Ndigbo’s tradition and Constitution and abused his office by paying loyalty to Alh Atiku Abubakar immediately after his election on 10h January 2017,and after he was queried by his NEC, he told them that his 1st official visit to Atiku, a Northerner, was to discuss the ill-health of President Buhari, who he believed is in bad condition;
“He has rendered the office of the secretary General Impotent, which according to Ohanaeze Constitution is the engine room of the organization and custodian of Ohanaeze Secretariat. He carefully appointed Director of Administration without Ime Obi approval thus assuming the powers of Secretary General through his political appointee, Director of Administration;
“He has closed down the Publicity Department of Ohanaeze by not giving the Publicity Department the liberty which his friend the spokesman of Afenifere enjoys, rather he is now the President General and Publicity Secretary using his media aide against the official spokesman of Ohanaeze Ndigbo;
“He has failed to audit the accounts of Ohanaeze within the last 12 months against the Ohanaeze Ndigbo constitution, which recommends for a periodic audit and accountability.
“Ohanaeze Ndigbo is a social cultural organization but he has converted it into a political organization; he already has a presidential candidate from the Northeast and is trying to impose him on Ndigbo through his deceitful message on restructuring, and will subsequently bring his brother as the running mate;
“The height of disgrace was at the handshake Across the Niger; in the history of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, no President General has been humiliated like him; the obvious outrage by our women going naked in an event that had chieftains of Afenifere, Middle belt, PANDEF and others, it is a clear testimony that he has soiled the premium position of President General of Ohanaeze and must step aside;
“The loss of confidence from Igbo youths, especially the Biafra agitators who have threatened to burn down South East if Nwodo hosts any public function on restructuring, is the height of elder’s rascality and to avert any public disturbances in any town by the threat of Biafra agitators, and consequently declare state of emergency in any state in South East, because of Public loss of confidence on Nwodo, he should step aside.”
“Therefore, we the teeming Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youths passe vote of no confidence on Nnia Nwodo and call Ndigbo and Nigerians to ignore him; he should not speak for Ndigbo again until he clears himself of these constitutional breaches he committed. We also call on the federal government and state governors to be wary of Nwodo.
“He has seven days from April 2nd to defend himself, or face the consequences of all he had done against Ndigbo. He is expected to appear before the Chairman of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Disciplinary Committee headed by Crown Prince Christian Dimkpa with immediate effect,” the Youth Wing further stated.
