Transfer: Barcelona open talks with PSG over Neymar return
Barcelona have
opened talks with Paris Saint-Germain, over a deal to re-sign Neymar, according
to Globoesporte.
There have been
intense speculations about the future of the 27-year-old in recent months and
now it seems a return to the Camp Nou after a two-year absence is edging
closer.
The fee is believed
to be in the region of €100million (£90m/$112m).
However, some
players believed to be Samuel Umtiti, Ousmane Dembele and Ivan Rakitic, will
also be offered in exchange.
PSG will consider selling
Neymar this summer, if they receive a substantial offer.
Chairman and CEO,
Nasser Al-Khelaifi, told France Football: “Players will have to be more
responsible than before.
“It must be
completely different. They will have to do more and work harder. They are not
there for their own amusement.
“If they do not
agree, the doors are open – Ciao! I do not want star behaviour anymore.”
PSG issues stern warning to Neymar, Cavani, Mbappe
Paris Saint-Germain
president, Nasser al-Khelaifi has issued a warning to the club’s players,
stating that he will no longer put up with any ‘celebrity behaviour’.
The Qatari
businessman revealed that the club will show any player who exhibits such an
attitude the exit door.
The Ligue 1
champions have long suffered from rumours of unrest in the playing squad,
dating as far back as early 2018 when Edinson Cavani and Neymar Jr. reportedly
had to be separated in the dressing room following an argument over penalty
taking duties.
Speaking to France
Football magazine, Al-Khelaifi says he is no longer willing to stand for any
such behaviour from the club’s star-studded squad in future.
He said, “I do not
want to have any celebrity behaviour anymore.
“Players will have
to assume their responsibilities even more than before.
“It must be
completely different. They will have to do more, work more.
“They are not here
to please themselves. If they do not agree, the doors are open!”
PSG’s change in
direction comes as a result of recent changes to their off-pitch personnel as
the club announced that Leonardo Araujo would be replacing Antero Henrique as
sporting director for a second spell.

Brazil football
star, Neymar arrived at a police station in Rio last night for
questioning over claims he raped a woman in a Paris hotel.
Instagram model Najila Trindade Mendes de Souza, 26, accused the Paris
Saint Germain forward last month of raping her at a hotel in Paris.
In a recent
interview, she said 'He was aggressive, totally different than the boy that I
got to know on the messages.
'Since I really
wanted to be with him I said, OK, I'm going to try to handle this,' she
said.
After some kissing
and caressing 'he started to hit me ... then he began to hurt me a lot, and I
asked him to stop because it hurt.'
According to
Trindade, Neymar apologized, but then continued hurting her while they had
sex.
Neymar admitted
meeting with Trindade but vociferously denies rape, saying the entire encounter
was consensual.
The 27-year-old
arrived at the station in a wheelchair having recently suffered an ankle injury
while playing for Brazil against Qatar in a friendly match.
The football star, whose full name is Neymar da Silva Santos Junior, was
escorted by three men as he hobbled into the building in Rio de Janeiro with a
crowd of fans and onlookers including the Press pictured outside the Police
station.
It has also been
revealed that his accuser, Trindade was handed a £5,000 fine by a Brazilian
court just one day before she made the allegation.
According to
Brazilian news website GP1, De Souza, she served with an eviction order by
the court ordered to pay a debt of 26,712 Brazilian Reais (£5,000) on May
14 - just one day before she came forward with the rape allegations. The fine
was imposed because of unpaid rent and was said to have been comprised of three
months of rent and legal fees.
Other media outlets
in Brazil also claimed she is currently engaged in a court case with the Pan
American School of Arts who sued her over a debt of 4,160 Reais (£800).
Police in Neymar's
home country of Brazil have launched a rape investigation after Trindade filed
charges there earlier this month.

him, as he tries to restrain her.

be heard saying: 'I’m going to hit you. Do you know why I’m going to hit
you? Do you know why? Do you know why? Because you assaulted me yesterday. You
left me here alone.'
Twitter user, The
Male Arya Stark who shared the video online wrote: 'So the woman who
accused Neymar of rape set up a camera, invited him to her hotel, then attacked
him in the hope that he will retaliate & then she'd have
"evidence" of assault.'
Women like this
deserve to go to jail!! For a long time!!!'
This comes after the lady accused Neymar of rape in a report which emerged
on Saturday.
According to Brazilian publication UOL Sport, Neymar had held a conversation
with the woman through the social media platform Instagram and, through a
friend, arranged for her to travel to Paris.
It was alleged that Neymar arrived drunk at her hotel, the Sofitel Paris Arc de
Triomphe, on May 15 before becoming aggressive and violent and then raping her.
The woman claimed she was left shaken by the experience and returned to Brazil
on May 17. Her complaint is reported to have been filed last Friday in Sao
Paulo.
She told police that Neymar arrived at the hotel that night 'apparently drunk,'
and that they talked and 'caressed'.
'However, at some point, Neymar became aggressive, and through violence,
practiced sexual intercourse against the will of the victim,' the police report
says.
According to her,
she returned home to Brazil two days later without telling French police
about the alleged rape because she was 'emotionally shaken and afraid to register
the facts in another country.'
The Brazilian
football star has strongly denied the accusation that he raped the woman in
Paris, saying it was a setup.
A statement issued
by Neymar's management on his website said the 27-year-old forward completely
rejected the allegations.
'Although he was surprised by the news of the Police Report, the facts were
already known to the Athlete and his staff, considering that a few days ago he
was a victim of attempted extortion, practiced by a lawyer from the city of Sao
Paulo, who, according to his version, represented the interests of the alleged
victim,' it read.
'The athlete's lawyers were immediately notified and have since day one taken
all appropriate steps.
'Faced with the unfortunate, illegal and outrageous event, we completely
repudiate the unjust accusations and, above all, the exposure in the press of
an extremely negative situation.
'All evidence of
the attempted extortion and non-rape shall be submitted to the Police Authority
in a timely manner.'

Brazil have

Copa America.
Neymar, who has
been captaining the Seleção over the past couple of months, has now been
replaced with fellow Paris Saint-Germain teammate, Dani Alves.
According to Sky
Sport, the Brazilian Football Confederation, CBF, made the announcement in a
statement released on Monday.
The statement read:
“Daniel Alves will be captain of the Brazilian national team in the friendly
matches against Qatar and Honduras and in Copa America Brazil 2019.
“The decision was
communicated to Neymar by Tite on Saturday.”
Brazil host the
Copa America between June 14 and July 7, kicking off against Bolivia before
facing Venezuela and Peru respectively.
PSG Manager, Emery Gives Update On Neymar, Says He Hasn't Congratulated The Team For The Trophy
Paris Saint-Germain manager, Unai Emery, has revealed that Neymar has not
called him since they thrashed Monaco 7-1 to clinch the Ligue 1 title.
Emery stated this in an interview with Cadena Cope.
“I spoke with Neymar two or three weeks ago to see how he was and what
idea he had of joining the group in training,” he said.
“The players have a chat, so Neymar has direct communication with the
players as well as the club and I.
“I have a very good relationship with Neymar. He is committed to the
team, to Brazil and he is concerned about his recovery. Neymar is very eager to
return and to play one game before the end of the season – that is what he told
me when we chatted two weeks ago.”
On the player’s future, Emery said he felt Neymar would stay at the Parc
des Princes, despite speculation linking him with a move away.
“I see Neymar in Paris, I honestly feel that – the union between him and
PSG will continue,” he said.
“Neymar has it clear what he wants at an individual and collective level.
We spoke about it at the beginning of the season with him and the president,
and that project remains in place.
“Neymar is searching to have the maximum role at PSG, and PSG is
searching to have a big starring role with Neymar’s aid. I would not understand
a PSG without Neymar, and Neymar would not understand himself without PSG.”
He said it was “normal that top clubs are interested in him” and added:
“He is considered to be, and is proving to be, among the best three players in
the world. Of course, at some point, top clubs can knock on the door.”
EPL: Mourinho Sets To Sign Neymar, Plans On Swapping Pogba, Martial
Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho might use Paul Pogba and Anthony
Martial in a swap deal to land Brazilian international, Neymar.
Neymar moved to the Ligue 1 giants in a world record £224million transfer
from Barcelona last summer.
The 26-year-old has grown disillusioned at PSG, fallen out with his coach
Unai Emery and several of his high-profile teammates.
Pogba, who scored twice for Manchester United in Saturday’s derby
victory, has also endured a turbulent few months at Old Trafford.
Also, Martial has been used sparingly in recent weeks having lost his
starting spot to new signing Alexis Sanchez and has regularly been linked with
a move to Juventus.
The Daily Star claims any deal would see United having to trade both
Pogba and Martial, plus around £50m, in order to sign Neymar.
Neymar has been sidelined with an ankle injury for six weeks now.
Chelsea legend, Didier Drogba has said that Paris
Saint-Germain star, Neymar has the qualities and determination to win Ballon
d’Or.
The ex-Ivorian captain said Neymar could win the
football biggest individual award as a PSG player but he needs to be patient.
Asked by Le Parisien whether Neymar can flourish in
Ligue 1, Drogba said: “I think so. He is a good friend. His presence brings a
lot to PSG.
“He has the qualities to win the Ballon d’Or in
Paris, he has the determination.”
He added: “Yes, they are on the right track, but PSG
still has some steps to take.
“We went through several semi-finals, one final
(2008) before getting there (2012). It takes time and, as we can see, it is not
necessarily the best team on paper that wins this trophy.
“The adventure lasted more than eight years at
Chelsea and, winning the Champions League, it was a satisfaction and, above
all, a relief.”
Neymar joined PSG last summer in a global-record
deal worth £198 million.
The 26-year-old, who is recovering from a broken
metatarsal, has scored 28 goals and provided 13 assists for the Ligue 1 giants.
