Transfer: Chelsea decide on Willian’s move to Barcelona, Atletico
Madrid
Chelsea have
finally decided not to allow forward Willian to leave Stamford Bridge in this
summer transfer window, after rejecting a £35million offer from Barcelona and
Atletico Madrid for the winger, Sky Sports reports.
The report claimed
that Chelsea are willing to offer Willian a new two-year deal after declining
bids from Barca and Atletico.
Willian has drawn
interests from both the Spanish La Liga giants in recent months.
The Brazilian
joined the Blues from Anzhi Makhachkala in 2013 and has made over 250
appearances for the West London club.
His current
contract at Chelsea will expire next year.
The 30-year-old has
helped Chelsea win two Premier League titles, the Europa League, FA Cup and EFL
Cup during his time at the club.
Transfer: Sarri tells Juventus to sign two Chelsea players
New Juventus
manager, Maurizio Sarri, is urging the club to sign Jorginho and Emerson
Palmieri from Chelsea, The Times reports.
The 60-year-old had
left Stamford Bridge to return to Serie A, signing a three-year contract with
the Italian champions.
Sarri guided the
Blues to a third-place finish in the Premier League and won the Europa League,
beating Arsenal in the final.
But Chelsea
supporters were not fully satisfied with his style of management and failed to
warm up to the Italian’s style of play.
One key change
Sarri insisted upon was to remove N’Golo Kante from his role at the heart of
midfield and replace him with Jorginho, who followed Sarri from Napoli to
Stamford Bridge in a £57 million deal.
He now wants to
bring Jorginho with him to Juventus to help implement his playing style.
Sarri also wants
Emerson, who struggled for playing time at the start of the season under him,
but as the campaign progressed, was preferred over Marcos Alonso.
Transfer: Nigeria’s most expensive wing-back sends strong message to
Chelsea
Ola Aina has sent a
heartfelt message to Chelsea after completing his move to Serie A side, Torino.
The 22-year-old
wing-back was
signed permanently for a fee of €10million after impressing on loan during
the 2018-19 season making him Nigeria’s most expensive wing-back.
Aina joined Chelsea
Academy at 10 and won the FA Youth Cup and UEFA Youth League with the side.
He made his senior
debut for the Blues in August 2016 under Antonio Conte but was limited to three
Premier League appearances.
After ending his
Stamford Bridge stay, Aina has taken to social media to appreciate the support
of the club as well as his former coaches during his time with the side.
“The start of a new
chapter. Words cannot express how I feel, joining the club as a 10-year-old it
was the best thing that happened to me, combined with playing football for the
team which I support, it was just amazing.
“Now I’m 22, I look
back on all the great times I’ve had from training, going on tours every year
and spending time with some amazing players I looked up to most of my life.
“I’ve also had the
pleasure of playing and training with some great players in the first team, but
most importantly the players that I can call bros from the academy over the
years. My best highlights will always be the memories of growing up and
becoming a man whilst also improving my craft with these players.
“I want to say a
big thank you to all the coaches, medical staff and more, that I’ve had
throughout my years at Chelsea. I am very grateful for constantly helping me
out and taking an interest in me.
“I would like to
thank my first coach Joe Edwards for everything he’s helped me with over the
years also; Micky Beale, Ciril (got me using my left foot), Adi Vivash (our
father figure) Andy Myers, Jody Morris Dermot Drummy and Antonio Conte (for all
my appearances for Chelsea).

Transfer: Ramon Calderon predicts Hazard’s future at Real Madrid
Former Real Madrid
president, Ramon Calderon, has predicted the future of Eden Hazard at the
Bernabeu.
According to him,
the former Chelsea star can make a real difference for his new side.
“I think it is
fantastic news for Real Madrid,” Calderon was quoted by Express Sports.
“The player is one
of those that anyone would like to have on their team – good dribbling,
excellent passing and he can play both flanks because he uses the two feet.
“He can play as a
winger, attacking midfielder and also a false nine so it’s perfect.
“I think it has
been a good opportunity to take advantage of the decision of the player to
leave Chelsea.
“This is the real
one, the other three [signings] I’m not quite sure but Eden Hazard is really
that player that can make the difference in a team and I hope he would be able
to play at the same level he has been in the Premier [League].”
The Court of
Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has confirmed that Chelsea have appealed their
two-window transfer ban.
FIFA imposed the
ban on the Premier League club after they were found to have broken rules
regarding the registering of young players.
Chelsea originally
appealed to FIFA to have the ban overturned, but world football’s governing
body rejected their appeal in terms of them being able to register senior
players.
The Blues have now
turned to CAS, who could overturn the ban or delay it while they gather all the
evidence required.
“The appeal is
directed against the FIFA Appeal Committee decision dated 11 April 2019 in
which CFC was declared liable for violations of the FIFA Regulations on the
Status and Transfer of Players and banned from registering new players,
nationally and internationally, for two entire and consecutive registration
periods, fined CHF 600,000, issued with a reprimand and warned on its future
conduct.
“Generally
speaking, CAS appeal arbitration procedures involve an exchange of written
submissions between the parties while a Panel of CAS arbitrators is being
convened to hear the appeal. Once the panel has been formally constituted it
issues procedural directions, including, inter alia, with respect to the
holding of a hearing. Following the hearing, if one is held (a CAS panel may
also issue a decision based only on the parties’ written submissions), the
panel deliberates and then issues its decision in the form of an Arbitral
Award.
“It is not possible
to say at this time when the Arbitral Award will be issued.”
Should Chelsea’s
appeal fail, then they will be unable to sign any player until the summer of
2020.
Chelsea: What Sarri’s move to Juventus will do to Napoli – Insigne
Napoli and Italy
striker, Lorenzo Insigne, has branded Chelsea manager, Maurizio Sarri as a
‘betrayer’.
Insigne, who played
under Sarri during the 60-year-old manager’s time at Napoli, stated this while
speaking on Sarri’s potential move to Juventus from Chelsea this summer.
The 28-yeaar-old
also said that it would hurt Napoli to see Sarri join their Serie A rivals.
Asked about the
prospect of his former coach joining Juventus at a press conference at
Coverciano ahead of Italy’s UEFA European Championship Qualifying fixture
against Greece, Insigne was quoted by Calciomercato as saying: “For us
Neapolitans, it would be a betrayal, it would hurt to see him there. The voices
on the coach create displeasure, he did so much for the Neapolitan people.
“He gave us
everything. At Chelsea, he did very well. I’m sorry and it’s hard to see him on
that bench, but it will be his choice. For me, he did so much, he changed me a
lot. I can’t express myself because I’m Neapolitan and I know how the
Neapolitans are living it”.
Sarri’s salary at Juventus revealed after agreeing to join Serie A
champions from Chelsea
What Chelsea
manager, Maurizio Sarri, will be earning as salary at Juventus has been
revealed, after the Italian finally agreed on a deal to join the Serie A
champions this summer.
We had
reported that Chelsea
have agreed to release Sarri after his agent, Fali Ramadani, had a lengthy
meeting with Chelsea directors in London.
However, Goal is
now reporting that Sarri’s salary at Juventus is expected to be
£6millon-a-year.
The report claimed
that Sarri agreed to move to Turin following Juventus’ shocking decision to
part ways with Massimiliano Allegri last month.
The report added
that the official announcement will be made in few days.
Sarri joined
Chelsea from Serie A side, Napoli, in 2018.
The 60-year-old won
his first piece of silverware on Wednesday night, beating Arsenal 4-1 in Baku
to lift the Europa League.
Eden Hazard’s jersey number at Real Madrid emerges
The jersey number
of Chelsea ace, Eden Hazard at Real Madrid has surfaced.
According to The
Sun, Hazard will be wearing the famed No. 7 shirt at Real Madrid when his
switch to Santiago Bernabeu is finally confirmed.
The Belgian captain
will be wearing the No. 7 shirt which belonged to forward, Cristiano Ronaldo,
before he left the club for Juventus last summer. The No. 7 shirt is currently
under the ownership of Mariano Diaz.
Hazard is keen to
join Real Madrid after he said “goodbye” to Chelsea fans, following
their Europa League victory against Arsenal and is expected to put pen to
paper with the La Liga giants within the next week.
It is believed that
Real Madrid will pay up to £115million for the 28-year-old forward.
Speaking after
Chelsea’s Europa League 4-1 win in Baku on Wednesday night, Hazard told
reporters: “I’ve made my decision and I told Chelsea two weeks ago.
“I’m just waiting
on both clubs to decide now.
“I think it’s a
goodbye. I’ve done this for 7 years and now it’s time for a new challenge.”
Hazard is set to
earn around £400,000-a-week at the Los Blancos, which tops the £300,000-a-week
offer he had on the table from Chelsea.
Europa League final: Petit
makes shocking prediction on Chelsea, Arsenal clash
Arsenal legend,
Emmanuel Petit, has backed Maurizio Sarri’s Chelsea to beat Unai Emery’s men
when both sides clash in Wednesday’s Europa League final in Baku.
Chelsea reached the
Europa League final after defeating Frankfurt in semi-final encounter, while
Arsenal dumped Napoli out of the competition.
But Petit believes
Chelsea are ‘in a good place’ to win the Europa League ahead of Arsenal.
“I’ve been critical
of Sarri in the past, particularly about some tactical decisions that I didn’t
understand. But you have to give him the time to do what he wants to do with
the team,” Petit told Paddy Power.
“If they win the
Europa League, they’ll have a European trophy, which alongside their earlier
Champions League qualification, translates to a good year for Chelsea.
“With all that in
mind, there’s a lot to be happy about for the club. If you compare this season
to the previous, he has probably achieved what the club asked him to do.
“Most of the time
when watching Chelsea, I get bored very easily, but the important thing is to
win games and win trophies, and they’re in a good place to do that.”
Former Arsenal
star, Emmanuel Petit, has revealed why Chelsea ace, Eden Hazard should make a
move to Real Madrid.
Petit said that the
Belgium international deserves a move to Santiago Bernabeu because for the last
six years he has been marvellous for Chelsea.
According to him,
the forward has been one of his best so far this season, even if he wasn’t
named in the Premier League team of the year.
Hazard is expected
to leave Stamford Bridge for Madrid this summer but Petit is insisting that his
departure is going to leave the Blues struggling to cope without him.
“It would be a big,
big loss for Chelsea if Eden Hazard left the club,” Petit told Paddy Power
ahead of Chelsea’s Europa League final against Arsenal.
“For the last six
years he has been marvellous for them – and this season has been one of his
best so far, even if he wasn’t named in the Premier League team of the year.
“Chelsea have so
many quality players, but none at Hazard’s level. He can do whatever he wants
on the pitch and is capable of making decisions with the ball at his feet.
“Hazard going to
Real Madrid would be a huge step for him – and he deserves it.
“But with the added
complication of a transfer ban, if he goes then you look at Chelsea and wonder
who is going to make the team alive on the pitch. Who is going to come up with
the key dribbles, the key passes?
“Chelsea don’t have
anyone else like Hazard. And because of the transfer ban, they don’t have the
power to replace him. I don’t see how they can cope next year without him.”
