Activist narrates the shocking reaction of healthcare workers, police,
and pastors to domestic violence and sexual abuse victims
An activist has
narrated specific events to show how healthcare workers, police officers, and
pastors in Nigeria react to victims of domestic violence and sexual
abuse.
@ChiefWitxh's post
reveals people in position of authorities who should provide help for victims,
are the ones who seem to shame them the most.
Face of MFM pastor accused of sexual abuse and impregnating of
16-year-old orphan
On Sunday, the
National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP),
announced the arrest of 48-year-old David Onyekachukwu, a Pastor
with the Mountain of Fire and Miracle Church (MFM), Gwarinpa Branch, Federal
Capital Territory, Abuja, for alleged rape and sexual exploitation of a
16-year-old orphan (Name withheld) and impregnating her in the process.
Ese Walter reacts to ''COZA pastor's'' current sexual scandal
Ese Walter, the
Nigerian lady who in 2013, accused Abuja pastor and founder of the
Commonwealth of Zion Assembly, Biodun Fatoyinbo of sexual exploitation whilst
she was a member of the church, has appealed to Nigerians not to drag her into
the new scandal involving a certain pastor many Nigerians are saying attends
COZA.
Recall that few
days ago, musician, Timi Dakolo via his Instagram page, accused a Nigerian pastor who he kept
anonymous, of sexually exploiting some of his female members. Timi in his post
alleged that the pastor sexually abuses his female members, leaving
them mentally strangled.
Many Nigerians
assumed he was referring to flamboyant COZA pastor, Biodun Fatoyinbo, and they
called him out, making particular reference to Ese Walter's allegations many
years ago.
In a post she
shared on her Facebook page this morning, Ese asked everyone to leave her out of
the scandal. According to her, she played the victim role until she turned 35.

Allow me
reintroduce myself...
.
My name is Ese Walter. FIRST of her name. I am an author (and all round
writer), self taught yogi (currently about a yoga teacher's training so I can
teach you safely) and mother (Boobbabies is the nick name for my children,
Boobman and Boobgirl)
What you have just read above is what I am consistently creating for myself in
this moment. I am currently on a 90 days, habit building, ACTION plan to become
the highest expression of myself in these roles I play.
I am not your poster girl for any trending stories, I am not a victim of
anything (although I played this victim role for years until 35 hit ) and
finally, I am not open to your discussions about my past. If you choose to live
there, be my guest, just quit your attempts to pull me along with
ya The tongue photo is actually for you
Lastly, if you have not healed from your pain, hurting others will not heal
you. Trust, I know. Plus, your pain is here to teach you. It is here to bring
out the fire in you. It is that fire that propels you in the direction of your
dreams (I am assuming you have dreams...if you don't, ain't no shame, sit with
yourself and build one)
U.N. receives 37 sexual abuse allegations against its personnel in the
first quarter of 2019
A spokesperson of
the United Nations has revealed that the international body received 37
allegations of sexual exploitation and abuse against its personnel in the first
quarter of 2019.
Mr Farhan Haq,
Deputy Spokesperson for the Secretary-General of the organisation, disclosed
this at a news conference in New York on Thursday. The alleged offenders,
according to Haq, include civilian and uniformed personnel from peacekeeping as
well as personnel of agencies, funds and programmes.
He also noted that
not all the allegations reported had been fully substantiated, and that many
were in the preliminary stage of assessment.
“Of the 37
allegations, there are 49 victims: 28 women and 11 girls, one boy, seven
females of unknown age, one unknown adult and one unknown child. Sixteen of
these allegations are categorised as sexual abuse, 27 as sexual exploitation,
four are of an unknown nature, and two have been categorised as “other”, of
which one was closed. Of these 37 allegations, one has been substantiated
through an investigation and has been referred to the Member State,’’ the
spokesperson said.
He added that four
of the allegations were not substantiated; 26 at various stages of
investigation, and six under preliminary assessment to determine if there is
sufficient information to investigate. Haq stated that the world body also
received 33 allegations, involving 37 victims and 38 perpetrators, against
non-UN personnel working as implementing partners.
