Nigerian man shares live video as he tries committing suicide in Ijebu Ode

 

A Nigerian man simply identified as Segun, sent his family and friends into a frenzy last night after sharing a video of himself trying to commit suicide. 

Earlier in the day, Segun had posted tweets describing how sad he was at scoring a low mark in his JAMB examination. According to Segun, there was no way he could have scored such a low mark. He then suggested that he will be trying to commit suicide by 9pm on Sunday night.

True to his word, he shared a video of himself drinking sniper. Thankfully, his friends were able to reach his mother, He was rushed to the hospital and is said to have been resuscitated.

A Nigerian man by the name Shadrack Okpomhe, has taken to his Facebook page to call out another man named Olorogun Jude Akporu.

In his post, Shadrack claimed Akporu dated his female friend for 18 years since their secondary school days and has dumped her to marry another lady.

An angry Shadrack wrote

He Dated my friend for 18yrs and dumped her to marry another lady.

O KARmA, I call on you to visit this man Asap.

My religion doesn't permit us or me sometimes to call anyone a demon, but this particular man here makes me equate him not only to a demon, but a senior advocate in the demonic world, sometimes I wonder why ladies commit suicide just because of failed relationships or marriage in as much I don't encourage it, but there are some cases they got no option than to take their own life, but this won't be the case because karma isn't a bitch anymore but an asshole in the hood.

The pictures of the man here is named Olorogun Jude Akporu he has been dating a friend of mine for the past 18yrs, from secondary school down to higher institution till on Friday night 10-5-2019, my friend does alot of things for him to make him happy at all cost, before then he blocked my friend on facebook and chats her up only on WhatsApp just because of his new found love, each time. My Friend talks about it, he gives her hope that she shouldn't worry that he in charge , to the extent he extorted my friend over a million naira , few weeks ago, the banns of marriage was announced in the church behold it was Jude whose name was mentioned, and when we heard about it, I called my friends attention who couldn't even believe her eyes anymore, only for this man to come around and tell my friend that, his parents are the ones forcing the lady on him that it was never his intention to marry that lady at same time she is the one he loves, this went on and on with much plea and crocodile ? tears ? .

He even encouraged my friend to get pregnant for him so that he can use that as a tool to cancel the already proposed marriage.

Just yesterday this wolf in a sheep clothing wedded Another lady.

People like you make ladies go extra mile to Commit suicide or life unbearable for who causes them pain, and If my friend should go an extra mile to make this happen, I won't blame her for anything because you choose to be heartless and inhuman, what you won't want another person to do to you as a Person because it hurts and might lead to what one never planned for.

Now u are happily married and according to your facebook status you talk about been a honest person, what does it take to be honest when you ain't honest to your own self?

The Nigeria Immigration Service has commenced the issuance of the new passport booklet with 10-year validity at its headquarters, Abuja.

The new booklet will be available in Ikoyi on June 3; Alausa, Lagos on July 8; and London on July 29, 2019. The enhanced polycarbonate booklet with 64 pages, which was launched by President Muhammadu Buhari on January 15, 2019, was embedded with the National Identity Number and costs N70,000.  

Conducting journalists round the passport office in Abuja on Monday, the NIS Public Relations Officer, DCI Sunday James, said the new booklet was part of a comprehensive passport reform approved by the Federal Government to improve the quality and security of the travel document as well as to reduce incidence of damage, counterfeit, and forgery.

He explained that it was compulsory for passport applicants to have a NIN, adding that the NIS management had set up a desk at the passport office where individuals can register for the NIN.  James stated, “the National Identity Number is compulsory for all applicants to the new document. To make it easy for applicants, the Nigeria Immigration Service has provided space for National Identity Management Commission at the service headquarters, Abuja, to register applicants and issue to them the NIN. The public are advised not to rush for the new booklet, as the new enhanced passport will run concurrently with the old one.”

The NIS spokesman further said that applicants holding a passport with more than six months’ validity are not eligible for the new booklet, except in the case of damage, change of data and those whose booklets have been exhausted. He advised applicants to pay online or directly to the banks situated within the passport offices.

Leadership Crisis: Akure North Monarchs Urge Gov. Akeredolu To Call Deji To Order

Traditional rulers in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State have rejected the recent judgement of a High Court that affirmed that the Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi has a consenting and prescribed authority to install minor chiefs and Olojas in both Akure south and Akure North Local Government Areas of the state.

The monarchs under the umbrella of Akure North Local Government Chieftaincy Committee, described the verdict as strange and contradicted the 1984 Chiefs Law of Ondo State as amended in 1991 and the Land Use Act which limited the prescribed authority of any traditional ruler to only communities in his local government area.

The monarchs added that the High Court verdict would be challenged at the Appeallate Court by the parties involved.

In a statement signed on behalf of the Obas, Olus and Olojas in Akure North Local Government Area, the Ogbolu of Ita-Ogbolu, Oba Idowu Faborode who is also their Chairman and the Oloba of Oba-Ile, Oba Joseph Oluwadare, insisted that Deji lacked powers to remove the Asinigbo of Isinigbo, Oba Samuel Elewuju.

According to the statement, Deji’s action violated existing Chieftaincy and LG Edicts in the state.

Justice W.A Akintoroye of the state High Court had last week ruled in favour of the Deji asserting his power as the consenting and prescribed authority for the installation of minor chiefs and Olojas in the domains which are traditionally and constitutionally associated with the Deji’s stool notwithstanding the bifurcation of Akure Local Government.

Oba Aladetoyinbo, who spoke through his Chief Press Secretary, Adeyeye Michael, pointed out that the judgment would further bring about unity and peaceful coexistence among all traditional rulers in the two Council areas.

But, lawyer to the Akure North monarchs who filed the suit, Mr Femi Emodamori said the Judgement would be challenge at the Appeal Court, noting that the ruling was strange to the State Chiefs Law.

Also reacting to the Judgement, the Akure North Monarchs called on the state Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN) and his Deputy, Agboola Ajayi to use their legal knowledge to call Oba Aladetoyinbo to order over his provocative handling of Chieftaincy matters between his domain and Akure North area which could destabilise the existing peace in the state Capital if not carefully and lawfully handled.

They also urged Akeredolu to make good his promise of releasing the Government’s White Paper on Justice Ajama Chieftaincy Commission to resolve myriad of Obaship tussles in Akure in particular and the state in general.

“After-all the Deji would never dream of going to any of the communities now in Ifedore LGA of the State to make any purported appointment or removal of Chiefs just because those communities used to be part of the Old Akure District

” Can His Majesty, the Ooni of Ife come to Ondo State and appoint, install or remove the Deji of Akure simply because Akure is part of Yorubaland? Let every king know his domain”, the Monarchs opined.

“The term ‘consenting authority’ has been abolished under our chieftaincy laws as far back as 1981 in the Ondo State Government White Paper on Morgan Chieftaincy Review Commission, in paragraph 10 of the white Paper. To say the least therefore, the judgment of the court in this regard is completely strange. We are however aware that those involved in the matter are already appealing the judgment

“As for the purported claim of the Deji of Akure that he had suspended and removed the Asinigbo of Isinigbo, we hereby assure the people and Government of Ondo State and Nigerians in general that the Asinigbo of Isinigbo remains the Traditional Head of Isinigbo Community and a member of the Akure North Local Government Council of Obas and Olus. He is still drawing his entitlements from the Akure North Local Government like all other Obas and Olus. Whoever asserts otherwise must be under illusion”.

Nurudeen Babalola, a driver, yesterday told Mapo Customary Court in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, that he caught his wife in bed with another man.

Babalola, in his divorce suit, said he almost ran mad.

He said even the mother-in-law admitted the other man was her daughter’s boyfriend.

“My lord, I caught my wife in her mother’s room with another man. Her mother even told me that the man in her room was my wife’s boyfriend”, Daily Trust quoted him as saying.

“A day after I caught her with the man, Fatima left my house with my children for an unknown destination for the second time.

“She didn’t allow my children to go to school. I complained to her mother but she didn’t do anything about it. I discovered that she didn’t have time for the children in the marriage. I don’t want her again,” he added.

But Fatimo said it was a lie that her husband caught her with a man in her mother’s room, saying she only arrested him when he beat her mercilessly.

She said, “I admit the case against me but I want to tell this court that he used to beat me mercilessly. It was a lie that he caught me with a man in my mother’s room.

“I arrested him when he beat me to the extent that my eyes were affected. There is no love between us again.”

The president of the court, Chief Ademola Odunade, flanked by Chief Raufu Raji and Sule Apanpa, dissolved the union and granted the custody of two children in the marriage to the defendant.

Odunade mandated the plaintiff to be responsible for the children’s welfare and also ordered him to pay the sum of N6,000 as monthly feeding allowance for the two children.

Libya Returnees Slams Nigerian Government, Says Many Are Returning To Libya Despite The Suffering

 

Some Libya returnees from Edo state have revealed that some of the returnees have gone back to the North African country preferring to die there than being frustrated by Nigerian authorities.

The returnees advised the International Organization of Migration, IOM, the European Union and other humanitarian agencies not to partner with the Nigerian Government in sending aide to them.

They also hinted that more Nigerians would continue to flee to Libya in spite of the sufferings and torture associated with such trips.

They said projects routed through the Nigerian Government hardly ever get to the intended beneficiaries.

The returnees spoke in Benin-City, Edo state at a ceremony organized by IOM to launch and hand over a Migrant Resource Centre MRC to the Federal Government.

Iluobe Ehis, who returned last year, said, “What I have to tell the EU-IOM is that they should please, not partner with the government or any other agency in Nigeria.

“If there is any project you have for the returnees, please do it fast. We heard that some money was set aside to empower us but till now we have not seen anything since we finished our training last year.”

Another returnee who simply identified himself as Collins said, “Talking about reintegration, up till today nothing has been done. They trained us last year but the grants they promised us have not been given.

“My candid advice to IOM and EU is that if you want to spend money on returnees, do not partner with the Nigerian government. Some of us that returned have gone back again.”

The programme had the presence of the Minister of Labour and Productivity, Dr. Chris Ngige; the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Boss Mustapha (represented by Mrs. Roseline Obiechine); and the Federal Commissioner, National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons, Hajia Sadia Umar Farouk.

1. Elders from the three main socio-cultural organizations in Benue state, on Thursday, cautioned president Muhammadu Buhari and his service chiefs against making inflammatory remarks that are capable of causing further killings in the state. Addressing a press conference in Abuja on the recent killing of about 26 people of Benue in Okpokwu Local Government by armed Fulani herdsmen, they said the body language and utterances of government officials have not convinced the people of Benue of the federal government’s willingness to protect and defend them in line with their constitutional roles.

2. Senate on Thursday summoned the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Ibrahim Idris and the Chief of Army Staff, Tukur Buratai, over the kidnap of secondary schoolgirls in Yobe and Borno States. They are to appear before the Joint Committees on Police Affairs, Security and Intelligence to give updates on operational strategies put in place to rescue the abducted girls.

3. An Igbosere High Court on Thursday declared that the Registered Trustees of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) involved in the collapsed six-storeyed building have a case to answer in the charge preferred against them, hence the case must continue.
The court made the declaration while ruling on a No Case Submission application filed by the defendants.

4. Two officers of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) whose names were not disclosed, were arrested at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, on Thursday for alleged human trafficking. The officers were arrested for allegedly trying to facilitate the trafficking of six underage girls to Omar and Kuwait on an Ethiopian Airlines flight.

5. The Senate Thursday raised concerns over underground plots to impeach the Senate president, Abubakar Bukola Saraki and destabilize the leadership of the upper chamber by some disaffected members. Senator Obinna Ogba representing Ebonyi north under order 43 alerted the Senate of surreptitious moves to cause crisis in the Senate. He accused senator Abdullahi Adamu representing Nasarawa West of being the mastermind and arrowhead of the ongoing plot.

6. The Senate Thursday got a report accusing the Kogi state government of illegally importing military uniforms, bola hats, bullet proof vests, night vision googles, tactical boots, tactical knapsacks, training canvas, boxing gloves among others ahead of the 2019 general elections. It was also said that the Nigerian customs Service has seized the military hardwares. The Senate consequently mandated its ad-hoc committee probing the allegations of political violence, intimidation and kidnapping in Kogi state to also investigate the allegation.

7. Similarly, the Senate has named an Ad-hoc committee to investigate Kogi State governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello over attacks on Senator Ahmed Ogembe’s empowerment programmes last Saturday at Okene, which left beneficiaries injured and hospitalised.
A ranking Senator, James Manager (PDP) of Delta South was appointed to head the Committee.

8. The Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai has berated the organised labour in the country, saying it has destroyed the nation more than its contribution to it. El-Rufai also called for “very low” minimum wage for civil servants.

9. But the organized labour has fired back, describing the Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai as an embarrassment to public office in Nigeria. It said the Governor was anti-people and a chameleon. General Secretary of Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Dr. Peter Ozo-Eso said this in his reaction.

10. The House of Representatives on Thursday asked President Muhammadu Buhari to direct security agencies to immediately begin the enforcement of the Open Grazing (Prohibition) Law in Benue State and end the killings by herdsmen. The House passed the resolution in Abuja as lawmakers again condemned the latest attacks on villagers in the Okpokwu Local Government Area of the state where 26 more lives were lost on Monday.

Islamic Alfa Defrauds A Woman Of N500,  After Several Months Of Sexual Deliverance

A 26-year old self acclaimed Islamic scholar, Alfa Babatunde Samuel has been arrested for defrauding a woman to the tune of N500,000.

He had also reportedly engaged her in ‘sex deliverance’ that was to last for one month in Lagos.

The incident happened at Jofolo Street in Iyana Ipaja area of Abule-Oke.

It was reported that the deliverance started after Samuel ‘Alfa, gave the victim a prophecy that put fear into her.

According to the victim, Samuel met her and informed her that she will soon die and therefore needed deliverance to cast out the spirit of death from her life.

It was gathered that Samuel told the victim things related to her and her family and she asked for the solution to avert those calamities.

It was then that Samuel took her to the place where he gave her the conditions which involved paying the said amount of money, buying a goat and sexual intercourse with him that will continue for one month before she will be totally delivered.

The victim collected the whole money from her sister and fulfilled other requests from Samuel including the sex romp in the form of deliverance.

However, the issue got exposed after Samuel continued to make demands of money and sex from her. She then confided in her sister what she was going through and how she gave Samuel the money she collected from the sister.

The matter was reported to the police. Samuel was trailed, arrested and taken to the Area M Command, Idimu.

Upon interrogation, Samuel confessed that he was an Alfa but he gave the victim a false prophecy to obtain money from her and had carnal knowledge of her which he had expected to last for at least one month.

He was charged before Ejigbo Magistrates court for the alleged offences. He pleaded not guilty.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. J.O.E. Adeyemi Ajayi granted Samuel bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.

Magistrate Ajayi ordered him to be remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition.

The matter was then adjourned till 26 March, 2018.

Security: Police IG, Idris Warns Health Workers To Shun Flamboyant Lifestyle To Avoid Attention

The Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris Kpotum, has advised health workers to avoid flamboyant lifestyles.

He said they should rather live simple lives in order to avoid attracting undue attention from terrorists and others who kidnap for ransom.

Idris gave the advice while delivering the keynote address at the opening ceremony of a National Conference on Security of Health Workers and Medical Practitioners organised by the Nigerian Medical Association in Abuja on Wednesday.

According to the Police boss, kidnapping gangs and terror groups target health workers, typically sold out by close family members, aggrieved friends or staff, who consider them as persons of high cash value.

He also urged the medical professionals to be mindful of shabbily dressed persons on the highway with Military or Police uniforms manning checkpoint, that have no solid checkpoint features or Police/Army vehicles parked by the side.

The IGP, who regretted that over 13 health workers were kidnapped in recent times, called for increased vigilance in order to identify suspicious individuals and report them to security agencies.

“Avoid showing that you are rich, try and portray yourself as a civil servant with meagre salary or running a small business.

“As healthcare professionals you are also mandated by law to report any one who comes or was brought to your facility for treatment of gunshot wounds. Such persons can be treated but the security agencies should be informed for questioning,” he said.

Former Nasarawa  State Governor Dies In Israel 

The immediate past governor of Nasarawa ‎State, Aliyu Akwe-Doma, is dead.

Akwe-Doma reportedly died after a brief illness at a foreign hospital in Israel, a nephew Ahmed Bako, told Premium Times on Tuesday.

It was gathered that already, sympathisers have gathered at Mr. Akwe-Doma’s house in Orozo, Karshi district of Abuja.

He governed Nasarawa State between 2007 to 2011 when he was defeated by incumbent governor Umaru Al-makura.

Preliminary Reports On Delta Airbus, Dana Air, Nest Oil Aircraft Accidents Released By AIB

The Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB) on Tuesday released preliminary report on the accident involving Delta Airbus A330-223 aircraft which occurred on February13 at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.

The bureau also released its preliminary reports on the Dana Air MD-83 aircraft which overran the runway at the Port Harcourt International Airport on February 20.

AIB further released a preliminary report on the accident involving Gulfstream G200 aircraft belonging to Nest Oil with registration number 5N-BTF, which occurred at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja on January 25.

According to AIB, the reports contain factual information on the three occurrences and not their probable causes as investigations are still ongoing.

“They include information gathered from witness statements and a preliminary inspection of the aircraft and the accident site.

“The three reports have been uploaded to the Bureau’s website (www.aib.gov.ng),” the Commissioner of AIB, Mr Akin Olateru, said.

Olateru reiterated that the bureau would continue to release reports promptly to enhance safety in the industry.

“We are seriously committed to releasing investigation reports on time.

“This is one way to ensure that such occurrences are prevented from repeating themselves and conform with the purpose of accident investigation,” he added.

On the Delta incident, he said that the flight DAL55, which departed Lagos, Nigeria, for Atlanta, United States of America with 221 passengers and 13 crew members on board, made an air return few minutes after take-off, following a fire warning on one of the engines.

Olateru said initial findings by AIB indicated that the flight crew were certified and qualified to conduct the flight in accordance with applicable Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) regulations.

“Number One engine fire warning came on about a minute after take-off, while the crew at 22.25 hours contacted Air Traffic Control and declared emergency.

“The aircraft landed at about 22. 59 hours and stopped on runway 18R, where the Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting Service first reported observing smoke and fire on the Number One engine.

“There was evidence of fire within the engine cowling, even as the two fire extinguishers on the engine were discharged and a commotion was reported onboard the aircraft before the evacuation,” the commissioner said.

According to him, further investigative actions may include engine examination, material testing for the fuel manifolds, engine oil and hydraulic lines, inspection of fuel manifolds for crack and inspection of fuel nozzle braze joints for leaks.

On the Dana Air incident, he said that the aircraft was cleared to land by the ATC and the crew reported that the runway had experienced recent rain before arrival.

“Other findings include the fact that after the aircraft came to a complete stop, emergency evacuation was carried out

“It involves using only the left forward main door and the escape slide on this door did not deploy just as the Public Address System did not work.

“The Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting Service arrived during the evacuation and all persons onboard were evacuated unhurt,” he added.

Also, on the Nestor Oil aircraft incident, he said the initial findings revealed that the aircraft lost directional control during the landing roll, veered off and came to rest on the right shoulder of the runway.

“The aircraft right main landing gear strut sheared off.

“The four passengers and three crew members onboard disembarked unhurt,” Olateru said.

Buahri Appoints A New Rector For Auchi Polytechnics 

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Dr Momodu Sanusi Jimah, as the substantive Rector of Auchi Polytechnic, in Edo state.

A statement by Mustapha Oshoibugie, the Chief Public Relations Officer of the institution in Benin on Tuesday said that the appointment takes effect from February 23 and for a period of four years.

Jimah, until his appointment, was the acting Rector of the Polytechnic.

He is also an Alumnus of the Polytechnic where he obtained the Higher National Diploma (HND) in Urban and Regional Planning in 1982.

He obtained the Post Graduate Diploma in Urban and Regional Planning in 1997 and Masters in Business Administration in 2003.

Nigeria Fuel Scarcity: NNPC MD, Baru And Custom Boss, Ali Meet 

Managing Director of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Dr. Maikanti Baru on Friday visited Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs, Col. Hameed Ali (retd) to end smuggling of petroleum products.

The meeting was held to discuss increasing rate of smuggling of petrol from Nigeria to neighbouring countries.

Maikanti Baru in a statement said they discussed ways to fight petroleum products diversion and cross-border smuggling to neighbouring countries.

The statement read “Petroleum products diversion and cross-border smuggling to neighbouring countries has been inimical to the efficient supply and distribution of petroleum products nationwide

“The existence of arbitrage opportunities in neighbouring countries has pushed daily National consumption from less than 35million litres per day to over 55million litres per day.

“During the recent PMS supply challenge, we observed that unpatriotic marketers are exploiting both land & coastal borders to smuggle out petr. products meant for the Nign mkt to other W/African countries due to sheer greed & lack of patriotism

“Inter-Agency collaboration against hoarding, diversion, smuggling and illegal price hike in ex-depot or retail pump price has become increasingly necessary in order to safeguard Nigeria’s Energy Security

“NNPC is concerned that continued cross-border smuggling of petroleum products will deny Nigerians the benefit of the FG’s benevolence of keeping a fixed retail price of N145/litre despite the increase in PMS open market price above N171/ltr

“Petroleum products diversion and cross-border smuggling to neighbouring countries constitutes serious threat to our economic stability and National Energy Security.

“Inter-Agency collaboration against hoarding, diversion, smuggling and illegal price hike in ex-depot or retail pump price has become increasingly necessary in order to safeguard Nigeria’s Energy Security.”

1. President Muhammadu Buhari, Thursday, said Nigeria had just recovered from its worst recession in more than two decades.

According to him, the rise in foreign private investments in Nigeria was as a result of the success of his administration’s economic agenda.

2. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, Thursday released the results of the recently-conducted mock Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME.

The board’s Head, Media and Information, Dr Fabian Benjamin, on Thursday in Lagos, described the conduct of the examination nationwide as hitch-free. He stated that those who sat for the exam can check their results online by visiting www.jamb.org.ng with their registration numbers.

3. Senator representing Kaduna central, Shehu Sani has given reasons President Muhammadu Buhari should reverse his decision and sign the Peace corps bill.

The lawmaker said Buhari should sign the bill and assigned the corps to protect schools against gunmen and kidnappers.

4. Lieutenant-Colonel AE Mamudu, one of the commanding officers of the Nigerian Army Strike Force Group, was on Thursday, killed by a vehicle-borne Improvised Explosive Device in Sambisa ‎Forest.

It was gathered that Mamudu was killed along with a young Naval officer while on patrol for Operation Deep Punch 11. ‎

5. The Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo on Thursday told those who want Ibrahim Magu removed as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, boss to perish the thought, asserting that the anti-corruption czar is “going nowhere”.

Osinbajo maintained that the EFCC acting chairman had not committed any offence to warrant his removal.

6. The House of Representatives has unanimously passed a vote of no confidence on the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, and the Minister of State, Mr. Abubakar Bawa-Bwari.

This follows absence of both ministers at a sectoral debate on the steel sector scheduled held on Thursday to find solutions to the troubled Ajaokuta Steel Plant.

7. A pipeline exploded at Iyana – Odo axis of Lasu- Isheri expressway on Thursday.

The exploded pipeline connects Ayobo community in the Ipaja end of Lagos Mainland.

8. Embattled Kogi lawmaker in the National Assembly, Senator Dino Melaye, was Thursday trapped in the Federal Capital Territory High Court, Maitama.

The road leading to the high court was barricaded by heavily armed personnel of the Special Anti robbery squad (SARS), thus preventing the controversial lawmaker from leaving the premises.

9. The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, on Thursday explained why some Igbo leaders were attacked during the Eastern Consultative Assembly (ECA) gathering in Enugu State.

IPOB said the protest was against the “one Nigeria project,” adding that Igbos have been subjected to apartheid under the current “Fulani Nigeria regime of Muhammadu Buhari.”

10. A batch of 144 Nigerians, which included four pregnant women, on Thursday, voluntary returned from Libya with the assistance of the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) and the European Union (EU).

The returnees arrived at the Cargo Wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos at 10.30pm.
