" ‘Yahoo Yahoo Boys’ are stingy, they are not helping Nigerian artistes" - Oritsefemi

 

Nigerian pop star, Oritsefemi, has said Internet fraudsters popularly known as ‘Yahoo Yahoo Boys’ in the country, are not being useful to the entertainment industry.

The ‘Double Wahala’ crooner made the comment in an interview with HipTV.

“How many artistes Yahoo Boy don buy car for?

“We can see politicians buying cars for artistes. Let’s call spade a spade. Yahoo boys are helping themselves, not other people. Artistes in the entertainment industry are struggling by themselves,” Oritsefemi said.

He went on to describe some of his friends who are into Internet fraud as stingy.

“Since I’ve known some of my yahoo friends, they’ve never helped me. If they can help me, I’ll agree. We see artistes struggling but yahoo boys are out enjoying themselves. If they can help the industry, I’ll be happy,” he said.

This comes just days after the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) filed 11 charges bordering on fraud against up and coming musician, Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley over alleged fraud.

The single which has been enjoying airplay in some parts of Nigeria and South Africa was released online on Sunday, 27^th May, 2018 and since been getting positive reviews from fans and media sectors all over Africa and other parts of the world.

In an exclusive interview with Naija Voice the Tonight coroner revealed that he has spent about ten years working on his musical career and believe this is time for him to announce himself to the world. He also took us into his world of art, where he explained in details his plan for the future with regards to his musical career.

In his words:

“I have a very big plan for my musical career but I will have to take one step at a time. right now am working on dropping an album before the end of the year but before then I will have to drop a few more singles. Nigerian and the world should expect great songs from me because I want to step up Nigerian music”.

Meek Mill Out Of Prison, Set To Resume His Musical Career

American rapper, Meek Mill has been released from prison after being incarcerated for violating his probation.

Meek Mill, who was sentenced after violating his probation on a drug and weapon’s case regained his freedom on Monday.

The Supreme Court of Pennsylvania made the decision to release him following a long legal battle challenging his conviction.

Speaking shortly after his release, Meek Mill told Billboard that “I’d like to thank God, my family, my friends, my attorneys, my team at Roc Nation including JAY-Z, Desiree Perez, my good friend Michael Rubin, my fans.”

He also thanked, “The Pennsylvania Supreme Court and all my public advocates for their love, support and encouragement during this difficult time.

“While the past five months have been a nightmare, the prayers, visits, calls, letters and rallies have helped me stay positive.

“To the Philadelphia District Attorney’s office, I’m grateful for your commitment to justice not only for my case, but for others that have been wrongfully jailed due to police misconduct.”

He further said “although I’m blessed to have the resources to fight this unjust situation, I understand that many people of colour across the country don’t have that luxury and I plan to use my platform to shine a light on those issues.

”In the meantime, I plan to work closely with my legal team to overturn this unwarranted conviction and look forward to reuniting with my family and resuming my music career.”

I Didn't Buy My Result But I Paid For It Through Hard work - Korede Bello Tells Nigerians

Mavin artiste, Korede Bello, has debunked claims that he bought his HND result from the Nigerian Institute of Journalism.

There were reports on social media suggesting that the Mavin Record star must have paid heavily to get his result.

Bello graduated four days ago from the institute with a distinction in Mass Communication (HND).

At the 5th convocation on Friday, April 20, the Institute presented one thousand three hundred and forty-one (1,341) “graduands of five academic sessions from 2013-2017 sets.”

The HND award list, had Korede Bello among the seven (7) students that graduated with distinction in the 2017 set of the institute.

Apart from that, he was also awarded the best student in “Editorial Writing” by the institute.

Bello, in an Instagram post, narrated why he refused to allow stardom stop him from finishing school.

He wrote, “I initially didn’t want to post this for many reasons, but I was wrong on all counts.

“I’d be doing millions of young people and my peers a disservice by not boldly putting it out there that impossibility is a myth; you can be Talented and Distinguished; Famous and Dignified; Celebrated and Educated, you can be a MEGA SUPER STAR with a MEGA SUPER VISION. For this I am grateful to God.

“The main reason I endured to the finish line was because I needed to push myself and also to be a light for a lot of young Nigerians who think you cannot be an established Artiste and still achieve academic excellence. I endured because #MyPeople needed a role model.

“A few days before I got signed, I was still looking for tuition fees, so I understand the experience that some of you go through. But just as HE came through for me , HE’ll come through for you.

“No, it wasn’t easy but it was worth it. I was graced and I’m grateful.

“And no,I didn’t buy my result but I paid for it through hard work, commitment and sacrifice (time and music). You can too. I believe in you, I believe in us. #DistinguishedNigerianYouths.”

K1 Travelled To Canada To Rest - Manager Reacts To His Health Rumour

The management of veteran Fuji artiste, K1 de Ultimate, has reacted to speculations regarding his health.

K1 had travelled to Canada for “medical reasons” as suggested in some quarters.

However, in a chat with Sunday Scoop, K1 de Ultimate’s manager, Azeez Kareem, stated that the Fuji star only took a rest.

He said, “He (K1) only travelled to Canada to rest. You know he has been playing since last year.

“He wanted to go late last year but his daughter’s death changed everything. He had to stay back, picked himself up and did some jobs that came his way.

“It is just a two-week break and nothing more. Usually, he routinely goes for check-ups but this trip has nothing to do with any health issue.

“For now, we don’t have any shows booked. Our next event is on April 15 and K1 would return on April 14.

“If he is seriously ill, he wouldn’t have performed non-stop shortly before he left the country. I don’t know what gave certain people the impression that he is sick.”

Popular Nigerian gospel singer, Tope Alabi has revealed why she kept her virginity until marriage.

The gospel singer told Punch that she remained a virgin due to quarterly check by her mother.

Tope Alabi said her mother believed one “didn’t have to be immoral simply because she is a singer. Every other member of my family was not pleased with my music career but my mother never took offence. She taught me that a female shouldn’t be too close to men.

“For example, I was never bathed at the same time with my male siblings. My mother used to check if my virginity was intact every three months interval before I got married; especially whenever I returned from movie locations.

“When I newly got married to my husband, we went to the National Theatre in Lagos to watch a movie and actors like Yinka Quadri, Ebun Oloyede, among others were there. When they saw my husband, they congratulated him and told him that he had chosen a good and exemplary wife.

“That made my husband quite happy. My mum was very strict and she never spared the rod. She also showed me a lot of motherly love.

Speaking on her music career and how she started producing soundtracks for Nollywood movies, the gospel singer said: “I started my entertainment career as an actress and back then, they didn’t do personalised soundtracks for movies.

“One day, one of my colleagues, Adio Majesta, said I should be able to compose songs for movies. He told me the title of the movie and that was how I started making soundtracks for movies.

“He believed I could do it because I always sang whenever we were on location and sometimes, I used the incident happening at that particular time to compose songs.

“My first daughter, Ayomikun is following my footsteps. She is currently studying music in the university. She often tells me a lot of things about the rudiments and intricacies of music. I actually wanted her to study medicine but she chose music. She writes good lyrics and I respect her for that.”

Paul Okoye Speaks On Psquare Breakup, Says He Never Left The Group

In a new interview with The Nation, Paul Okoye of the now defunct group, PSquare, says he never left the group when his twin brother, Peter, opted out and that he moved on with his solo career after waiting for two months to see if the fallout could be resolved. 

In the interview, Paul said “I never left and I don’t know why people keep asking me that. It might be the fourth time it’s happening but I always wait. But this time the difference is that I did not wait. So I don’t have issues on that.”

Speaking further, Paul said the earlier days of their separation was strange to him because he had never performed alone but now he is used to it

“There was a bit of a breakdown when it happened and everyone was in shock because usually when things happen like that, I wait for almost nine months. But this time, I had to move on with my life and under two months, it became normal for me. It’s the same old thing. There’s nothing new. The only part I know is different is performing alone because at the early stage I wasn’t used to it but now, I am used to it''.

 Reacting to comments made by some Nigerians that himself and Peter have become upcoming artiste since their breakup, Paul said ''Well, they know who they are referring to. Like I said, nothing changed. If you listen, it is the same thing you have been listening to almost twenty years so I cannot go and discover a new thing. We are in the internet generation so people can say whatever they want. I know people are angry but there are some things that you cannot say; that is why it is family. If somebody did not pull out what they pulled out, you won’t know about anything. That is not me, and like I said, I don’t want to say anything about it. You might be doing your job but I have to protect what I have to protect''.

Peter left the group in 2017. He accused his brothers, Paul and Jude, of consistent  disregard for his creative input in Psquare. He also accused Jude of always threatening his life.

American Rapper, Rick Ross On Life Support After Heart Failure

American Rapper, Rick Ross is reportedly under life support over the malfunction of his heart and lungs.

Ross was hospitalised early Thursday morning after he was found unresponsive in his Florida home by police and emergency teams, TMZ reported.

It was reported that an ambulance took the 42-year-old Florida native to Miami area hospital where he was treated for respiratory issues.

Ross is said to have a history of seizures, and a 911 caller said that Ross was just “nodding his head.”

According to TMZ, Ross is being treated in the hospital’s cardiac unit.

Rick Ross is reportedly being treated with extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), a form of life support in which blood is oxygenated outside of the body before it’s pumped back into it.

“Everywhere that Jesus went after his 18 years sabbatical, the decadent Roman people were threatened by his teachings and rebelled against his message of love, inner freedom and individual power. Today, Jesus would be considered not only a rebel, but also a terrorist, and if not a terrorist, most certainly a threat to the status quo, as he scathingly was 2000 years ago.

“I am happy that the truth I speak, upsets a lot of people, especially those yeye riffraff wey miss road enter leadership. I cannot and will not stop. And I really don’t mind taking a bullet for the Nigerian youths if that will free dem from der mumurization,” the article read.

We’re definitely loving this brotherly bond between two of the country’s leading artistes, Davido & Wizkid after they broke the internet and dropped the jaws of many when they made a performance together at their concerts.
