Tuface Petitions NCC Over COSON Leaders Crisis, Alleges Members Under Attack

BREAKING NEWS
Tuface Petitions NCC Over COSON Leaders Crisis, Alleges Members Under Attack
Music Legend, ‘Tuface ’ Idibia has called on the Nigeria Copyright Commission (NCC) to intervene in the ongoing Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSCON) crisis.
Tuface in a petition addressed to the NCC, lamented that Efe Omorogbe and other COSON board members were “being harassed, and intimidated’ by the police.
This is in regards to power tussle between Tony Okoroji and Efe Omorogbe, who are both laying claim to the leadership of the body.
Tuface in the petition accused Okoroji of fighting for the control of COSON for “personal ends”.
The petition addressed to Alam Ezekude, Director-General of NCC, was also sent to Ibrahim Idris, the Inspector-General of police, Senate President Bukola Saraki, Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo and President Muhammadu Buhari.
It read “It is quite unfortunate and disheartening that a simple call for accountability and transparency has degenerated into relentless media attack, harassment and intimidation of the group of people who made the call.
“The personal interest of a few should not supersede the collective interest of generality of members and overall well being of the society.
“I will like to implore you to use your good office to engage the Inspector General of Police with a view to setting the records straight and reversing the embarrassing and dangerous scenario where Mr Efe Omorogbe and Mr Joel Ajayi, chairman and members of the commission-recognised board acting well under the directive of the regulator, are now being harassed, intimidated, demonised and prosecuted by a sister government agency – The Nigerian Police Force.
“COSON is formed and built by the collective efforts of like-minded industry stalwarts, and it will be a shame to see all of the hard work that has gone into building the society, go down the drain.
“Our CMO is under siege and our commonwealth is threatened by Chief Tony Okoroji and his agents who for personal ends, continue to demonstrate deep contempt for regulation and the call for accountability.”
Omorogbe is the longtime manager of the ‘African Queen’ singer.
Meanwhile, Audu Maikori, a director on the board of COSON, recently advised Okoroji to let go of power or risk being “disgraced” like Robert Mugabe, Zimbabwe’s ousted president.

K1 Travelled To Canada To Rest - Manager Reacts To His Health Rumour

ENTERTAINMENT NEWS
K1 Travelled To Canada To Rest - Manager Reacts To His Health Rumour
The management of veteran Fuji artiste, K1 de Ultimate, has reacted to speculations regarding his health.
K1 had travelled to Canada for “medical reasons” as suggested in some quarters.
However, in a chat with Sunday Scoop, K1 de Ultimate’s manager, Azeez Kareem, stated that the Fuji star only took a rest.
He said, “He (K1) only travelled to Canada to rest. You know he has been playing since last year.
“He wanted to go late last year but his daughter’s death changed everything. He had to stay back, picked himself up and did some jobs that came his way.
“It is just a two-week break and nothing more. Usually, he routinely goes for check-ups but this trip has nothing to do with any health issue.
“For now, we don’t have any shows booked. Our next event is on April 15 and K1 would return on April 14.
“If he is seriously ill, he wouldn’t have performed non-stop shortly before he left the country. I don’t know what gave certain people the impression that he is sick.”

Paul Okoye Speaks On Psquare Breakup, Says He Never Left The Group

CELEBRITY NEWS
Paul Okoye Speaks On Psquare Breakup, Says He Never Left The Group
In a new interview with The Nation, Paul Okoye of the now defunct group, PSquare, says he never left the group when his twin brother, Peter, opted out and that he moved on with his solo career after waiting for two months to see if the fallout could be resolved.

In the interview, Paul said I never left and I dont know why people keep asking me that. It might be the fourth time its happening but I always wait. But this time the difference is that I did not wait. So I dont have issues on that.

Speaking further, Paul said the earlier days of their separation was strange to him because he had never performed alone but now he is used to it

There was a bit of a breakdown when it happened and everyone was in shock because usually when things happen like that, I wait for almost nine months. But this time, I had to move on with my life and under two months, it became normal for me. Its the same old thing. Theres nothing new. The only part I know is different is performing alone because at the early stage I wasnt used to it but now, I am used to it''.

Reacting to comments made by some Nigerians that himself and Peter have become upcoming artiste since their breakup, Paul said ''Well, they know who they are referring to. Like I said, nothing changed. If you listen, it is the same thing you have been listening to almost twenty years so I cannot go and discover a new thing. We are in the internet generation so people can say whatever they want. I know people are angry but there are some things that you cannot say; that is why it is family. If somebody did not pull out what they pulled out, you wont know about anything. That is not me, and like I said, I dont want to say anything about it. You might be doing your job but I have to protect what I have to protect''.

Peter left the group in 2017. He accused his brothers, Paul and Jude, of consistent  disregard for his creative input in Psquare. He also accused Jude of always threatening his life.

Olamide Abscond With My Money, Show Promoter, T-Cash Lament

Olamide Abscond With My Money, Show Promoter, T-Cash Lament
A show promoter based in Barcelona, Oluwatosin Oketumo, popularly called T-Cash, has claimed that his life is in danger after a show which was supposed to feature Rapper, Olamide flopped.
The show promoter said he contacted Olamide through his tour manager, Alex Ozone and they had an agreement of €8,500 to have the artiste perform at the event in Barcelona.
However, he gave Olamide’s camp €4,000 and he did not show up for the performance.
According to him, this had brought death threats to him as people are posting his picture with the caption RIP.
He told Punch, “The name of my outfit is T-Cash International Promotion and I am based in Barcelona. I had a deal of €8,500 with O3 Media, Alex Ozone who is Olamide’s tour manager but I was unable to meet up with the whole money as of the time of the event.
“The initial agreement was that I was going to pay for the flight ticket and hotel reservation of five people from Prague, the Czech Republic to Barcelona, at the end of the day, I was told to add two more people to the list making it a total of seven people. I did not object.
“They were supposed to arrive on Friday but I booked the ticket a day before so that we could have a massive publicity for the show. At the end of the day, the turnout was not as massive as I expected but I was able to gather €3,000. With that money, I went to the hotel to talk to Ozone to plead with him to have €3,000 and I promised I would give them the full payment after the show.
” At the end of the day, they collected €3,000 plus the €1,000 I had given them earlier. After I had begged, he said that he went to talk to Olamide and the singer said that he would not perform if his fee was not complete, and that’s how everything went wrong and they left Barcelona.
“Olamide was in his room and they did not allow me to talk to him. By the time I went to the venue to talk to the crowd, people had scattered everywhere and before I got back to the hotel, they had already taken a cab to the airport and travelled to Germany. I have been trying to reach them but they are not saying anything and people have begun to rubbish my name.
“Some people have been saying that they paid me and I absconded with their money but it is a lie. No one contributed a dime for me to stage this show. It was just me and three of my friends that came together to make it happen.
“Now I am trying to reach them to ask for my €4,000, even though I know I may not get the refund for the tickets I bought. Right now, I am facing a lot in Barcelona just because Olamide did not perform as I promised. Many people are writing nasty things about me with some posting my picture and writing Rest In Peace on it.
My life is in danger as I am being threatened constantly. I am facing a lot right now just because of the show and it is also spoiling my business. I contacted Olamide through Ozone because he is his tour manager. I am not thinking of taking legal action but I just want them to return my money and I would know how to sort the mess out,”
When contacted, Olamide’s tour manager, Ozone said that they had a contract prior to the show but T-cash did not meet up his end of the bargain.
“Did he tell you we had a contract prior to the concert?
“He didn’t meet up, that’s why I didn’t allow Olamide to perform. So how would I have got the balance, he didn’t pay as agreed, so we had to leave.
“The contract stated that he would pay €8,500 and provide flights and accommodation for five people.
“I have a right to sue him for breach of our contract, the dude made me lose €5,000 for that show.
“He did a live video on his Facebook page where he even apologised for using me,” Ozone said.
