www.naijavoiceofthemasses.blogspot.com

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the defendants, James Oja, 47, and Sunny Ejidike, 52, are facing a three-count charge bordering on conspiracy, obtaining by false pretence and stealing.

Mr Augustine Nwabuisi, the Police prosecutor, told the court that the defendants committed the offences on May 3.

Nwabuisi said the defendants had picked the milk in a Mark truck registered AJL 924 XW for delivery to their employer, FCMG, located at No. 13, Fati Atere str., Mushin area of Lagos.

He however told the court that the two defendants diverted the truck, stole all the goods and sold them.

Nwabuisi listed the items in the delivery truck as: 731 tins of Forto instant milk, 179 sachets of Kerry gold milk, 24 cartons of Kerry gold tin, 15 bags of Forto instant milk and 2 bags of Kerry gold milk.

He equally told the court that the total value of the milk was N23 million.

He said, “My Lord, when they missed their delivery day, the head of logistics came to the station and reported the theft.

“During investigations, we discovered that the defendants had rerouted the truck to a different location, offloaded the milk and sold some of them.”

Defection: Jimi Agbaje, Ogunlewe, others returned to APC where they belong – Bode George

POLITICS
Defection: Jimi Agbaje, Ogunlewe, others returned to APC where they belong – Bode George
Defection: Jimi Agbaje, Ogunlewe, others returned to APC where they belong – Bode George
Former National Vice Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Olabode George, has disclosed that the party’s governorship candidate in Lagos State in the last election, Jimi Agbaje, appears to have joined the All Progressives Congress, APC.

George also revealed that Agbaje failed in the last election because ‘he thinks he knows it all’, adding that it was Lagos people that worked against him.

He said that Agbaje originally come from the APC and had been part of the ruling party in the state from the beginning.

According to the PDP leader, any member of the party that wants to leave should go, adding that Sen. Adeseye Ogunlewe, who recently joined the APC, was a member of the Alliance for Democracy (AD), “so he simply moved back to where he came from.”
“Let them go. Some of them were good guys but now they are going to a place where they do not practice democracy at all. Those people who defected to the APC, from where did they originally come from? They came from APC,” the former Ondo State Military Administrator told Sun.

“Ogunlewe was a member of the Alliance for Democracy (AD), so he simply moved back to where he came from. They came from the APC.

“One of them came to my house and told me that the only business he does is to be a PSP operator and that a letter was written to him threatening to sack him; so because of his daily bread, he had to go back to APC.

“In the case of Dipo Olurunimu, his case was a different ball game. At a time, he was the only PDP member left in the Lagos State House of Assembly when others defected.
“But they were harassing him and he had to join them. APC is not a political party. Look at that Rita Orji she came around and got the ticket after that she started running around claiming to be the leader of the party in the state.

“The experience we have had in the South West is that there has been an unnecessary incursion of control over the affairs of the party from the national body.

“There has been interference in the management of the party in the South West and we met some days ago and decided that never again are we going to allow anybody outside of our zone to come and interfere in the affairs of the party.

“Let the leaders face national issues; you cannot know my house more than me. They were handpicking candidates and imposing them on us and we have seen the results, but we are determined that this would never happen again.

“Segun Adewale’s case is laughable; we need to pray for him, he is a very sick young man. The national body of the party has written that he is not a member of the party.

“If he says he is the chairman, I don’t know what party he is leading; but it is definitely not this PDP. We fought a good fight in the presidential election, we worked for Atiku and we are sure he won. But for Agbaje, he said he knows it all.

“We didn’t work against him; it is the people of Lagos that worked against him. Where did Agbaje originally come from?

“Was he not part of the ruling party in the state from the beginning? Some people are saying he is now in APC and all his movements indicate that he is now with them.”

Lagos State SSG, Tunji Bello rates Ambode’s administration low, says it is the worse since Lateef Jakande

Lagos State SSG, Tunji Bello rates Ambode’s administration low, says it is the worse since Lateef Jakande
Lagos State SSG, Tunji Bello rates Ambode?s administration low, says it is the worse since Lateef Jakande
The outgoing Secretary to the State Government in Lagos, Barr. Tunji Bello has stated that the Ambode administration lacked emotional intelligence and achieved less accomplishment when compared to previous administrations in the state.

The acclaimed journalist and lawyer who has previously served on the administrations of former Lagos Governors, Bola Tinubu and Babatunde Fashola in his outgoing remarks as the SSG said Ambode’s ondoing is
“the belief that our way is the best without considering other options in a democratic setting, absence of wider consultations, distance from the governed, lack of effective communication skill or amateurish display of government acts and political immaturity.

Read Tunji Bello’s full statement below…

TIME TO SAY GOOD BYE TO COLLEAGUES ON THIS PLATFORM .
The exit bell has sounded and it is time to say good bye to colleagues. We must seriously thank our Governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode for bringing all of us together in the last four years.
We must praise him for the successful strides in bringing Lagos to the present level. All the accomplishments and success stories of this administration should go to him.
We should be happy too because we are directly or indirectly part of that success stories being his lieutenants.  We should be happy for the opportunity provided and experience gained. It is not what you can buy on the shelf even if you have all the money. We should also be happy and thankful to God for seeing us to the end.
Yet as we depart on our individual sojourn, we must never forget to learn from our glaring weaknesses and failures. Since we are all part of the success stories we must also share in the weaknesses and failures.
Our main drawback is our Government’s inability to apply enough emotional intelligence in the administration of the state. Emotional intelligence includes interpersonal skills, interpersonal relationship, humility, respect for the well established mores of governance, disregard for the accomplishments of others. The belief that our way is the best without considering other options in a democratic setting, absence of wider consultations, distance from the governed, lack of effective communication skill or amateurish display of government acts and political immaturity. Deliberate and open alienation of others. We undertook gigantic projects without the soul. We were too self opinionated and narrow in our approach to governance.
It is a big drawback which prevented the administration from returning because it was punished for its lack of inclusiveness in a democratic setting.
In leadership, emotional intelligence is 70 per cent of application while individual brilliance is only 30 percent. Successful leaderships across the world in history have thrived on this fact.
Besides, and apart from lack of enough camaraderie compare to previous administrations, our cabinet has been less rigorous, less fulfilled, less engaged and less accomplished. And for the first time since the time of Governor Lateef Jakande, this cabinet departs unappreciated and disenchanted.
But dear colleagues, irrespective of all the set backs and disappointments, let us thank God Almighty for his mercies and benevolence and we leave with strongest belief that tomorrow belongs to HIM.
I wish all success in our future endeavors as we continue to remember one another!
Tunji Bello
Secretary to the State Government.
